Itinerary
Day 1 - Okonjima Bush Camp
Your guide awaits you at the start of your Etosha safari when you arrive at
Windhoek Hosea Kutako International airport , from where it is about a 3 hour
drive to the home of the renowned AfriCat Foundation. Big cats are the main attraction here, and as Namibia has
over 20% of the world's cheetah population, (the largest concentration in the world,)
Okonjima has become the base for the Africat Foundation.
Day 2 – Onguma Plains, The Fort
Onguma Game Reserve is situated on the eastern side of Etosha Park in Namibia,
bordering Fischer’s Pan. The Fort at Onguma is set on this 20 000 ha nature reserve which boasts
over thirty different animal species. Predators such as lion, cheetah and leopard are
common residents of the area. The latest addition to the already abundant wildlife at Onguma Nature Reserve is a
family of black rhinos!
The Fort is unique. Massive raw walls, stunning stone clad features and a huge tower with views toward Etosha and
Fisher's Pan offers the best sunset views in the whole of Namibia!
We use most of the day as a long game drive from the eastern side of Etosha towards
Okaukuejo.The main attraction of this camp is that it overlooks a permanent waterhole, which is floodlit at night.
Here a wide diversity of wildlife congregates and interacts. The spectacle starts at dawn, with animals coming in
large numbers to quench their thirst. The excitement continues throughout the day and deep into the night. In the
early evenings, it is not uncommon to have black rhinoceros, elephant and
lion, all drinking at the same time.
You overnight in the Premier Waterhole Chalet, overlooking the famous Okaukuejo Waterhole.
Day 4 – Etosha National Park, Okaukeujo
Another day is spend exploring the various waterholes in the vicinity of
Okaukuejo. During the dry season, large number of antelope is a guaranteed site and of course, the
predators are never far away.
Day 5 – End of Safari
The 4 and a half hour drive takes you back to the
airport in time for your flight back home.
